|I am a visual artist based in Iowa City, Iowa. Born and raised on a farm in Jackson County, Iowa, I began an early career as a portrait photographer in Bellevue, Iowa. I received my MFA in Intermedia at the University of Iowa in 1998. Currently I work as a freelance photographer and a Lecturer in the Art and Art History Department at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.|

I was chosen as the Iowa Photographer for Stuart PIlkington's 50 States Project in 2009.
The University of Iowa Press published my first book of B/W photographs (2007) - Down to the River; Portraits of Iowa Musicians. I have copies available ($30 + shipping) and will personally sign a book and send it to you or as a gift to your friend.
Currently I am working on several photo projects. My KiCKSTARTER project was very successful - thanks to so many wonderful friends! The Anderson Gallery at Drake University invited me to exhibit my newest work "my eyes are not shut". This show will travel to Lawrence University in Appleton, WI next January 2014.
